On Wednesday the 31st of January 2024, our teacher, Mr Jackson, was honored to be given the opportunity to present to the Year 6 students and teachers of Sha Tin Junior School.

At the time of the visit, the Year 6 students had just begun the process of finding and deciding their topics for the Year 6 PYP Exhibition. The Year 6 Exhibition is an opportunity for students to showcase their learning from the Primary Year Programs.

The PYP Exhibition is a significant milestone in the IB Primary Years Programme, representing the culmination of students’ learning experiences and the embodiment of the IB Learner Profile attributes. Throughout this process, our students have demonstrated fantastic collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity, exploring a wide range of topics and issues that reflect their passion, curiosity, and commitment to making a positive impact on the world around them. - Discovery College School, Hong Kong

Whilst presenting to the Year 6s on Wednesday, he was able to share his own experience from when he did the Exhibition 6 Years ago. Mr Jackson talked about where and how he got his inspiration for my Exhibition topic as well as the importance of finding your passion. He got to hear from a few students what their hobbies and interests were as well as what they were passionate about. Additionally, during his presentation, he was able to give them an insight into some of the skills they may use during the process as well as how the skills will help them later in life.

It is always a delight to be able to present, especially to the Year 6s. Last year I began my presentation by saying "I did my exhibition 5 years ago" and this year I am saying "I did my exhibition 6 years ago." Every year the number goes up, but with that, I gain more experience by sharing my experience. - Mr Jackson
