Unforgettable Moments: Term 1 Recap at Sai Kung Theatre

Term 1, 2025 was nothing short of amazing, a vibrant tapestry woven with fun, laughter, and boundless creativity, all brought to life by the enthusiastic participation of over 30 students this year. This term marked a significant milestone as we officially launched the Sai Kung Theatre, a venture dedicated to nurturing young talent and fostering a love for the performing arts within our community.

To kick off this exciting journey, we organized a series of free taster sessions throughout the entire month of September 2025. These sessions served as a wonderful introduction to the world of theatre, allowing the Sai Kung community to witness firsthand the magic and intricacies of performing arts. Families and children flocked to our sessions, eager to explore and engage with the various aspects of theatre. The atmosphere was electric, filled with anticipation and joy as participants discovered new forms of expression and creativity.

Our Little Stars program was particularly successful in igniting sparks of imagination in the children through play-based learning. This innovative approach not only made learning enjoyable but also encouraged young minds to explore their creativity in a supportive environment. Through games, storytelling, and improvisation, children were able to develop their confidence and communication skills, laying a strong foundation for their future in the performing arts.

In addition to the Little Stars program, we offered our Wednesday Stage Skills Class, which focused on teaching essential performing arts skills. This class was designed to equip students with the fundamental techniques required for devising theatre and performing monologues. Participants engaged in various exercises that emphasized character development, script analysis, and voice projection, all vital components for any aspiring actor. The collaborative nature of the class fostered a sense of camaraderie among the students, as they learned to support and inspire one another in their artistic endeavors.

Our Saturday Drama Club, which is akin to a musical theatre experience, provided an exciting opportunity for students to delve deeper into the world of performance.
